Celebrating 15 Years: A Journey of Transformation and Empowering Change

Woohoo! Can you believe it? It's been a wild and crazy 15-year rollercoaster ride on this entrepreneurial journey of mine! Today, with a big smile on my face, I'm feeling all the feels – amazed, grateful, and pumped to share some of my story with you. Buckle up, folks!

So, let's rewind to the beginning. Back then, I was working as a financial analyst in the corporate world. I learned a lot and enjoyed the projects I worked on, but deep down, I felt like a caged bird yearning to spread its wings. Yes, it's absolutely a great fit for a lot of people, but not for this adventure-seeking spirit! I knew I belonged somewhere else – somewhere that would allow me to unleash my creativity and passion.

Of course, I got the work done, but I was also the one you could count on to have an entire extended family of Mr. Potato Heads at their desk, ready for anyone who needed a little break. I was the one who led the charge in creating "chalk" body outlines with masking tape in the walkways, and never said no to a few high kicks down the hall of the sales training department. Hey, life is all about having fun and enjoying the journey, right?

And I'll never forget one powerful word included on my peer review: QUIRKY! You know what I say to that? Thank you! That’s still one of the best pieces of feedback I’ve ever received. It was like a validation that I was still being myself, despite feeling like I was in the wrong place. That further confirmed I needed to make a change.

Was it the kick in the pants I needed to leave the corporate world? Nope. Not even close. It took a few more years of the status quo, being laid off, a new position at a different company, and then spending three months in tears at my desk almost every day because of how hopelessly stuck I felt in the toxic work environment before I finally took action. Talk about needing a push!

As I walked out the corporate doors for good, and ventured into uncharted waters, I had no idea what the future held. But one thing was crystal clear – I was heading in the right direction. After weeks of soul-searching and diligent work, the answer hit me like a bolt of lightning. I founded my first company, "Simply Neat," and embraced my new identity as a professional organizer.

Now, you might be wondering, "Hold up, how does a financial analyst turn into a decluttering maven?" Well, I went from organizing numbers and screen layouts to organizing homes and offices. Different clutter, but the same goal of organizing things to make life easier and more efficient.

For me, there was no looking back. I loved working with my organizing clients. It was incredibly fulfilling. When it was time, I added life coaching, so that I could support clients on a whole new level of transformation. (I can only imagine how things would have unfolded for me had I started working with coaches much sooner – what was I thinking by waiting?!)

Life, my friend, is like a wild rollercoaster, always throwing new twists and turns our way. Whether it's dodging traffic jams or navigating major life shifts, change is our constant companion on this exhilarating journey. And guess what? It's all part of this beautiful adventure!
